roads

As you drive, the weather can be different, even within a few miles. You will always want to make sure that you are prepared for anything. Before traveling, check the weather and road conditions. This will help you be aware if any bad weather on your travels. You will also know what type of weather you might be driving into. Depending on the temperature, you will have to worry about freezing rain, snow, or sleet. You will want to make sure your vehicle can handle the roads as well. By bringing it in for regular maintenance, you can help check the safety and reliability of your vehicle for winter.

Tall snow drifts

As winter goes on, so will the snow. The snow can be pushed to sides or corners of the road. Eventually, the snow banks will get taller and impair some of your visibility. If you are at an intersection and you cannot see over the snow bank or drift, remember to drive out slowly. This will help keep you safe, incase a vehicle is driving fast by you. It will prevent an accident. By inching out carefully, you can slowly be visible to other drivers, while still checking your safety and oncoming traffic.

Check the brakes

Testing the brakes is a good way to determine how slick the roads might be. This helps you to prepare to stop. If the roads are starting to become slick, you will want to remember to slow down in plenty of time beforehand, so you have enough space to stop. If you slam on the brakes when it is slippery, you could be in an accident, or cause an accident. When you apply the brakes, if they do not stop immediately, try to pump them. This helps to move brake fluid through the lines and get your vehicle to slow down. If you notice an issue, remember to bring the vehicle in for an inspection by us.
