Owning a vehicle can be a big investment, so it is important to keep the vehicle in the best condition possible. Make sure to bring the vehicle in on a regular basis so we can inspect it. By having proper maintenance done, you can help ensure that the parts and components are working at the best performance levels as you drive. If you notice anything out of the norm with the vehicle, make sure to bring it in as soon as you can.

Ceramic brake pads and Metallic brake pads differ slightly from one another. The Ceramic brake pads are made from ceramic and copper fibers blended together, while Metallic brake pads are made with metal fibers in the braking compound. Ceramic pads tend to be quieter, create less dust, and are gentler on brake rotors than Metallic pads. When the brake pads are not warmed up, Metallic pads do offer a better grip and more stopping power than Ceramic pads.

You can tell when the brakes should be replaced based on their ability to stop. If your vehicle is slow to stop when you step on the brakes, chances are the brakes are wearing out. Also, if you apply the brakes and the pedal is pushed almost down to the floor, it might indicate worn brake pads. It could also be a problem with the hydraulic system, such as air in the line, or an air leak or brake fluid leak.

Another indication that the brakes should be replaced is a squealing noise when the brakes are applied. Noisy brakes are very serious and means it should be looked at as soon as possible. The rotors should also be looked at to insure a proper and working brake system. If there are deep, circular shaped marks and grooves in the brake rotors, they may need to be replaced. Over time the brake pads may begin to wear down, resulting in the deep grooves on the rotors. If there are signs of this, make sure to bring your vehicle in so we can inspect the parts and components for you.
